Ipswich Town have bolstered their central midfield options by completing a £9 million package deal to sign Serbian international Saša Lukić from Fulham.
The 29-year-old midfielder underwent his medical procedures before committing his long-term future to Portman Road, putting pen to paper on a four-year contract through June 2030
Lukić brings established top-flight poise to the Ipswich engine room. Since moving to Craven Cottage from Serie A side Torino in early 2023, the Serbian has registered 92 Premier League appearances and played over 100 matches across all competitions for Fulham.
Known for his calm passing distribution, stamina, and versatility across central and defensive midfield positions, Lukić offers proven reliability. He has also been a mainstay for the Serbia national team, accumulating 62 caps and featuring on international football’s biggest stages, including UEFA Euro 2024.
The midfield has been a target area for significant investment for the tractor boys. Securing a player with 150+ Serie A matches and extensive Premier League minutes provides crucial tactical composure and international quality and on the other hand, the £9m fee enables Fulham to recoup their initial investment while reshaping their squad dynamics under the new coaching staff.
