Roony Bardghji, a 20-year-old winger for FC Barcelona, has torn his ACL and will be out for six to seven months. This injury comes at a bad time for the Swedish player, as he was about to go on loan to get more playing time.
The injury happened during a training session. Tests later confirmed it was an ACL tear. Bardghji will have surgery soon and then start a long recovery program with Barcelona’s medical staff.
Bardghji joined Barcelona from FC Copenhagen, and both the club and the player had agreed that a loan would be the best move for his career. He faces strong competition for playing time at Barcelona, especially from Lamine Yamal on the right wing. A loan move was planned to give him around 30 starts in a top league. Several clubs were interested in signing him on loan before the transfer window closed.
This injury means those transfer plans are off, and Bardghji will have to stay in Barcelona to focus on his recovery instead of playing games.
ACL injuries are very difficult for footballers, both physically and mentally. For a winger like Bardghji, who relies on speed, agility, and quick bursts of acceleration, staying patient during rehab will be crucial.
Barcelona’s medical team has stated they will not rush Bardghji’s recovery. In the first few months after surgery, the focus will be on regaining movement, rebuilding strength in his thigh muscles, and slowly returning to on-field exercises.
