Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg have agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign 21-year-old defensive midfielder Dário Essugo on a season-long loan move.
The Portuguese youth international pivots to France after a prospective loan move to Premier League side Hull City collapsed during deadline day talks.
Hull City had actively explored a loan deal for Essugo, but negotiations broke down, opening the door for Strasbourg to finalize terms. Essugo takes up Strasbourg’s final international loan spot from Chelsea under the BlueCo multi-club structure.
Having joined Chelsea from Sporting CP in 2025, Essugo moves to Alsace to secure regular first-team minutes and continue his progression in top-flight European football.
