Nottingham Forest Target Tijjani Reijnders.

Reports indicate that Forest have added Manchester City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders to their transfer shortlist as they look to strengthen their midfield options before the window closes.

Manager Oliver Glasner has identified the 28-year-old Dutch international as a target to add tactical quality and ball progression in central midfield. Newcastle United explored a move for Reijnders earlier in the summer back in June, but did not follow up on their initial inquiries, leaving room for Forest to step in however, Forest aren’t alone—Italian powerhouse Juventus and Turkish side Galatasaray are also keeping a close eye on his situation at Manchester City .

Since joining Manchester City from AC Milan in the summer of 2025, the Netherlands international has showcased his dynamic, box-to-box skillset, elite ability to carry the ball forward, dictate match tempo, and break line pressure.

While discussions are still in the early stages, Forest are actively exploring the conditions required to pull off a deal. Convincing Manchester City to part with the midfielder—and agreeing on personal terms—will be a major hurdle, but Forest’s intent to add top-tier quality is clear.
