Juventus is trying again to sign Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez. They have made a new offer, and the clubs are getting closer to agreeing on a price.
Juventus is ready to pay a total of €10 million, with €7 million paid upfront and another €3 million in bonuses. However, Aston Villa wants the full €10 million upfront before they let their main goalkeeper go. There are no problems with personal terms for the 33-year-old Argentinian player, who won the World Cup.
Talks had stopped before because the clubs were too far apart on the money. But Juventus’s renewed interest has brought them much closer to a deal.
Juventus’s latest offer is close to what Villa wants overall, but the way the money is paid is still the main thing they need to sort out. Since the player’s contract is not an issue, the deal depends on Juventus changing their offer to meet Villa’s demand for a fixed upfront payment.
Aston Villa is also looking for other goalkeepers just in case Martínez moves to Italy before the transfer window closes. They seem close to signing Suzuki.
