Ipswich Town and Bayer Leverkusen have a handshake deal for Exequiel Palacios, a midfielder. The transfer could be worth as much as £25.7 million.
The Premier League club has agreed on terms with the 27-year-old Argentinian international, and he’s signed on a long-term deal through 2030. The agreement includes a base price plus additional payments that depend on certain conditions.
Everything is agreed in principle now, but Ipswich Town and Bayer Leverkusen are still sorting out the final paperwork. Once that’s done, Palacios can have his medical and then officially sign his contract, which will keep him there until 2030.
Bringing in Palacios, who won the World Cup, shows Ipswich Town is serious about strengthening their midfield.
