Getafe Open Talks to Sign Liverpool’s Stefan Bajčetić

Getafe is talking with Liverpool about signing midfielder Stefan Bajčetić, who is 21. Fabrizio Romano, a transfer insider, reported that the clubs have started official talks to figure out how the deal might work. They’re discussing different possibilities: it could be a simple loan, a loan with a buy option or obligation, or a full transfer.

Bajčetić recently got back to full training after being out for a while with injuries. He went with Liverpool on their pre-season trip to the US but didn’t play in any of the practice games. Moving back to Spain might give him a good chance to play regularly and get back into shape.

He first joined Liverpool’s senior team in the 2022-23 season and showed he could be a strong defensive midfielder, good at keeping possession under pressure and staying calm. But lately, he’s had trouble with injuries and other issues that have kept him from playing much.

If Liverpool lets him go to Getafe, it could help them manage his development while he gets consistent playing time in a major European league.

Discussions are still happening as the transfer window nears its end.
