Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has officially confirmed that Manchester City have reached a complete agreement with Olympique de Marseille for the transfer of Argentine international goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli for a fee in the region of £3m.
Following an exclusive story broken last week, all contracts between the two clubs have now been finalized. Rulli has been given formal permission to travel to England for his medical examinations before signing his contract with the Cityzens.
This transfer represents a fascinating full-circle moment in Gerónimo Rulli’s career. Back in the summer of 2016 Pep Guardiola’s first transfer window at Manchester City Rulli was officially acquired by City from Deportivo Maldonado / Real Sociedad. However, he was immediately loaned back to Real Sociedad and later sold permanently without making a competitive senior appearance for the Sky Blues.
Rulli has been authorized to travel for his medical with a 2 year deal agreed already between him and Manchester City.
