Nottingham Forest are aiming to pull off one of the summer’s most ambitious transfer coups. The Premier League side is pushing hard to seal a deal for Sporting CP’s star center-back Ousmane Diomandé—and they’re aiming to do it at a massive discount.
Forest are preparing a package worth around €40m (£32m) including performance add-ons. which is half his reported €80m release clause. Manager Oliver Glasner wants Diomandé to anchor his preferred three-at-the-back system, viewing the 22-year-old’s athleticism and composure as ideal for the Premier League.
The Ivorian is tied to long term contract at Sporting but according to major outlets, Sporting are willing to compromise when guaranteed cash and realistic add-ons hit the table. If Forest can structure the installments favorably, there’s growing belief at the City Ground that this deadline-worthy swoop could actually cross the line.
