Crystal Palace Prepare Final Paperwork to Seal Joel Ordóñez Deal Ahead of Aston Villa

Crystal Palace seems to be getting closer to adding Joel Ordóñez to their defense. He’s a well-regarded Ecuadorian center-back from Club Brugge in Belgium.

It looks like the paperwork between the two clubs is all sorted out. That means the 22-year-old, who plays for Ecuador internationally, could be Oliver Glasner’s next signing at Selhurst Park pretty soon.

The deal they’ve put together between Palace and Club Brugge is designed to be flexible but also locks the player in for the long haul. So, he’ll initially join on loan for the rest of this season, and then there’s a definite requirement for Palace to buy him outright when the loan period ends. This makes sure Ordóñez commits to the Eagles permanently.

With everything agreed upon between the clubs and with the player himself, Ordóñez is expected to have his medical examination very shortly.

Once he gets through the physical tests, the defender from Ecuador will sign his contract immediately. This will finalize his move to London and strengthen Palace’s defense as they head into a busy period with league games and cup competitions.
