Chelsea Submit new offer for Rayo Vallecano Star

Chelsea have launched a fresh, improved proposal to Rayo Vallecano for Spanish defender Pep Chavarría as negotiations enter a crucial phase. Despite intense back-and-forth discussions between the two clubs, there is growing optimism at Stamford Bridge that a final agreement can be reached in the coming days.

With Marc Cucurella departing for Real Madrid earlier in the summer window, securing a natural, high-intensity left-back has become a paramount priority for new head coach Xabi Alonso.

Negotiations between BlueCo executives and Rayo Vallecano president Raúl Martín Presa have been long and tough. However, Chelsea’s persistent efforts have kept the deal progressing. Chelsea saw their initial two offers of €9m base and €15m total package both rejected. The Blues have today submitted a new package reaching up to €25 million (including fixed fee + add-ons)  with personal terms already agreed between Chelsea and Pep Chavarria.

The 28-year-old Spaniard has been an express request by Xabi Alonso as the coach reshapes Chelsea’s defensive line. Chavarría fits seamlessly into Alonso’s preferred tactical setups, capable of operating as an aggressive wing-back or a disciplined left-sided defender and he is also known across La Liga for his high-energy pressing, recovery speed, and accurate crossing capabilities.

With personal terms out of the way, the entire deal rests on Rayo Vallecano approving the latest fee structure. Should Rayo accept the €25m package, Chavarría is expected to fly into London shortly to undergo medical tests and finalize his long-term contract.
