Borussia Dortmund Push for Konstantelias Replacement

Borussia Dortmund is really pushing hard in these last few hours before the transfer window shuts. They’re looking for an immediate attacking player to step in because of a really tough injury to one of their new guys.

Giannis Konstantelias, who they brought in for 26 million euros from PAOK and even scored on his first Bundesliga game, tore his ACL in his left knee. He’ll be out for months.

So, Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl and his team have focused on two main players, and one of them is Ethan Nwaneri from Arsenal. This 19-year-old, who came up through Arsenal’s academy, is now Dortmund’s top target. They’re hoping to get him on a season-long loan. Dortmund has already sent a formal offer to Arsenal, and talks are ongoing as the deadline approaches.

Losing Konstantelias so soon after he joined has left Dortmund without much depth in the attacking midfield. They’ve already spent over 100 million euros this transfer window, so they’re now aiming for a quality loan signing or a short-term deal.

They expect to make a final decision within hours so they have enough time to get the medical checks done and register the player before the German transfer window closes.
