FC Barcelona seems to have a plan in place for their goalkeeping situation, and it involves Dominik Livaković. They’ve reportedly reached a verbal agreement to bring him in from Fenerbahçe.
The idea is to sign him this summer, but then send him out on loan for the next season. This way, he’ll get some game time elsewhere before coming to Barcelona for the 2027 season, when they anticipate he’ll be ready to step in and potentially replace Wojciech Szczęsny.
The reported fee is around €2 million upfront, with another €2 million tied to performance. The initial plan is for him to go to Dinamo Zagreb on a one-year loan for the 2026/27 season.
This approach allows Barcelona to sort out the long-term future without immediately disrupting the current squad. For now, Joan García is expected to be the starting keeper under Hansi Flick, with Szczęsny as the experienced backup.
