Aston Villa’s ambitious summer recruitment drive has hit a major roadblock. The club actively explored a deal for Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho during high-level negotiations regarding Morgan Rogers’ high-profile switch to West London.
However, despite Villa’s concrete interest, the Argentine international has firmly rejected the offer. Garnacho has reportedly made it clear that his absolute priority is a move to Serie A giants AS Roma.
Chelsea are open to parting ways with the young winger but are demanding a premium price tag. The Blues are prepared to sanction a permanent sale for an estimated £44.2 million. However, should a transfer materialize this summer, Chelsea won’t be the only club pocketing a fee. Garnacho’s former club, Manchester United, are set to receive a financial boost due to a 10% sell-on clause they cleverly negotiated into his previous contract.
