Al-Hilal, a big name in the Saudi Pro League, has reached a deal with Aston Villa to bring in Ollie Watkins.
The English forward is 30 years old. This move comes after a few weeks of back-and-forth talks and some rejected offers. Villa finally agreed to a package worth €58.4 million guaranteed, with an extra €2 million possible in add-ons.
Watkins spent six years at Villa Park, and this move to Riyadh marks the end of that chapter. He became the club’s highest scorer in the Premier League during his time there. Now that this agreement is done, Aston Villa is looking to bring in a new attacker.
They’ve picked up the pace on talks with Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, who is seen as the main target for Unai Emery to lead their offense.
