Coventry City Agree Deal to Sign Brentford’s Ethan Pinnock

Coventry City has signaled their intentions in the transfer market with the signing of experienced center-back Ethan Pinnock from Premier League club Brentford. The agreement involves an initial £5 million payment, with another £1 million possible in add-ons, for the 33-year-old Jamaican international.

Pinnock has received permission from Brentford to complete his medical examination and finalize a three-year contract, which includes an option for an additional year, at the CBS Arena.

The addition of Pinnock is expected to bolster Coventry’s defense with his proven quality and experience, having risen through the ranks from non-league football to become a consistent performer in the Premier League. He has been a key figure in Brentford’s defense since their promotion, frequently ranking among the top defenders in the league for duels won and aerial clearances.

Pinnock departs Brentford as a well-regarded player, embodying the club’s successful recruitment strategy. He joined them from Barnsley in 2019 and became a crucial starter in the Premier League.

Securing an established Premier League player for a total package of £6 million indicates Coventry’s strong ambitions for the current season.
