Liverpool reportedly made a bid of £50 million for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh, but the offer was turned down. Minteh, who is 22 and from Gambia, is currently out for about eight weeks after having surgery on his leg from an injury he picked up in pre-season.
New Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola wants to bring in some attacking players for the right side of the field, especially after Mohamed Salah left earlier this summer. Even though Minteh is injured right now, his player profile seems to match what Liverpool is looking for in their signings. Last season, he played 36 times for Brighton, scoring three goals and getting four assists. People see him as one of the most exciting young wingers in the Premier League.
Brighton is sticking to their high price for Minteh. This leaves Liverpool needing to figure out if they want to offer more money before the transfer window closes, or if they should look at other players for the winger position in these final days.
