Real Betis Closing In on €20m Deal for AZ Alkmaar Striker Troy Parrott

Real Betis is close to signing Troy Parrott from AZ Alkmaar for about €20 million. Negotiations have been moving fast this week, and the Spanish club wants to finish the deal before the transfer window closes.

Parrott was left out of AZ Alkmaar’s squad for their game on August 15 because talks were serious and they wanted to avoid him getting hurt. West Ham had an €18 million offer rejected earlier, so they looked for other players, making Real Betis the leading team for Parrott.

Last season, Real Betis finished fifth in La Liga, which means they’ll play in the Champions League. Because of this, they really need to sign a good center-forward.

Parrott joined AZ Alkmaar from Tottenham Hotspur in July 2024 for €8 million. Since then, the 24-year-old Irish player has improved a lot playing in the Dutch league.

AZ Alkmaar is already getting ready for him to leave by bringing in backup striker Mexx Meerdink. It’s expected that the final details about bonuses and payment plans will be sorted out soon.
