Arsenal Step Up Pursuit of Aston Villa Defender Ezri Konsa

Arsenal is looking to sign Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa. Manager Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen the defense because William Saliba got injured.

BBC Sport and The Daily Mail have reported that Arsenal has talked more with Aston Villa about this. Fabrizio Romano, who follows transfers, said Konsa is the easiest player for Arsenal to get right now. This is especially true since they had trouble signing Marc Pubill from Atlético Madrid and Cristian Romero from Tottenham.

Arsenal wants to make a deal happen, but they disagree on how much Konsa is worth. Arsenal is willing to pay about £30 million to £40 million, but Aston Villa wants £60 million for the 28-year-old player.

Aston Villa turned down Arsenal’s first offer in mid-July, which was around £30 million to £40 million. But now, with the transfer window closing soon, Arsenal is planning to offer more, possibly closer to Villa’s £60 million asking price.
