Arsenal Inquire About Atlético Madrid Starlet

Arsenal is looking at Spanish defender Marc Pubill. Fabrizio Romano reported that Arsenal contacted Atlético Madrid about potentially signing the versatile defender. However, it doesn’t look like anything will happen soon because Atlético Madrid considers him off-limits right now.

Arsenal wants to strengthen their defense, especially since William Saliba will be out for a while. They first asked about Pubill’s price and if Atlético would even consider selling him.

Atlético Madrid has made it clear they won’t sell. Coach Diego Simeone and the club’s management see Pubill, who won Olympic gold in 2024, as a key part of their future plans. He has a long-term contract until 2031, and his contract includes a huge £433 million release clause, meaning Atlético has all the power in any transfer talks.

Since Atlético isn’t willing to negotiate, Arsenal needs to look at other players to improve their defense before the transfer window closes. Players like Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa and Jules Koundé from Barcelona are still on their list and seem like more realistic options.
