Kalvin Phillips Set for Sheffield United Return as Verbal Agreement Struck with Man City

Sheffield United and Manchester City have verbally agreed to a new loan deal for Kalvin Phillips. Reports suggest all the details between the clubs are settled. The transfer will be finalized once Phillips, who is 30 years old, passes his medical.

Phillips was previously on loan at Sheffield United in the latter half of the 2025–26 season. Both the club and the player wanted him to return. The agreement between Manchester City and Sheffield United is in place, and it’s just waiting for Phillips to pass his medical tests.

Manchester City didn’t include Phillips in their pre-season tour squad, and he’s been given permission to look for a new club this summer to get more playing time. Once his medical is done and he passes it, Phillips will immediately join Sheffield United’s midfield.
