New Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca wants to bring Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández to the club. Maresca managed Fernández at Chelsea before coming to City and really likes his skills in the midfield.
City’s interest in Fernández isn’t just because Barcelona is talking about signing Rodri. Maresca has wanted the 25-year-old World Cup winner since the transfer window started. However, any deal really depends on the money. Chelsea is asking for £120 million, but they don’t have to sell him. Chelsea would be happy to keep Fernández in London and have him play for them again.
If Rodri leaves for Barcelona, it might make Manchester City more willing to spend money. But paying Chelsea’s £120 million asking price is still the main thing that will decide if this big transfer actually happens.
