Fenerbahçe Closing In on Deal for Romelu Lukaku

Fenerbahçe is in the final stages of talks to sign Romelu Lukaku from Napoli. The 33-year-old Belgian player has agreed to join the Istanbul club, and negotiations between the two teams are moving quickly.

Lukaku has an initial agreement with Fenerbahçe for a two-year contract, which is said to be worth around €10 million per season, including bonuses. Since he was not part of Napoli’s future plans after last season, the experienced striker wanted to find a new club where he could keep playing at a high level and aim to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Napoli paid Chelsea €30 million to buy Lukaku permanently in 2024. Chelsea still gets 40% of any future sale, so Napoli wants at least €10 million to €12 million to avoid losing money. Fenerbahçe first offered between €6 million and €8 million, but they are now preparing a new offer that would meet Napoli’s price in two payments.

Agent Federico Pastorello is handling the final negotiations between Italy and Turkey. It’s expected that official announcements and medical checks could happen very soon.
