Galatasaray has reached out to Arsenal about signing Brazilian winger Gabriel Martinelli this summer. Arsenal has stated that Martinelli won’t be sold unless they sign another prominent left winger first. Arsenal’s left wing has seen changes before the new season.
Christos Tzolis has joined and played well in preseason, and the team is still looking for more attacking players. This makes it unclear how much playing time Martinelli will get on the left.
Even with these new players, Mikel Arteta believes having depth is important for competing in both domestic and European games. Letting Martinelli go without signing another winger would leave the team lacking speed and direct attacking ability.
Arsenal isn’t in a hurry to sell, and Martinelli’s contract gives them options. So, it’s up to Galatasaray to make a strong offer while Arsenal keeps looking for more attacking players.
