Crystal Palace have officially completed the signing of Japan international defender Takehiro Tomiyasu on a free transfer.
The 27-year-old versatile defender returns to English football following a successful pre-season trial period with the Eagles, earning a permanent deal ahead of the upcoming campaign. He will wear the No. 17 shirt for Palace.

Tomiyasu spent four seasons at Arsenal after joining from Serie A side Bologna in 2021. After departing North London, he spent time with Dutch titans Ajax to regain match fitness and sharpness.
Having featured for Japan during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Tomiyasu joined Crystal Palace’s pre-season training camp on trial to prove his physical readiness. His impressive displays convinced manager Pierre Sage and the Palace hierarchy to finalize a permanent deal.
