England international forward Ivan Toney has been formally charged with assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH) following an alleged incident at a nightclub in central London.
Metropolitan Police officially charged Toney on July 31 for an incident that happened on 2026 for December 6, 2025 at a venue on Wardour Street in London’s Soho district (100 Wardour Street).
Following news of the formal charge, a representative for the 30-year-old striker released an official statement:
“Ivan acknowledges the charge and although he is naturally shocked, he looks forward to being given the opportunity to clear his name in court.”
Toney currently plays for Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli, having completed a high-profile £40 million move from Premier League side Brentford in August 2024. The former Brentford hitman has earned 10 caps for the England national team and was part of the Three Lions squad during the 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
His scheduled court date in late September falls during a crucial week in international football, just days ahead of England’s UEFA Nations League match against Spain.
