Official: Mohamed Salah Joins Trabzonspor on Free Transfer

Mohamed Salah has officially completed a move to Turkish Super Lig giants Trabzonspor on a two-year deal. Following the expiration of his contract at Liverpool, the 34-year-old Egyptian superstar arrives in Türkiye as a free agent, launching a historic new chapter on the shores of the Black Sea.

Upon landing in Türkiye wearing Trabzonspor’s iconic burgundy and blue colors, Salah was met by thousands of passionate supporters chanting his name, setting off flare displays, and painting the city in team colors. Over 25,000 fans gathered at Papara Park for his official unveiling ceremony.

Speaking at the presentation alongside Trabzonspor President Ertugrul Dogan, an emotional Salah expressed his awe at the reception:

“The last couple of days have been an experience I’ve never had in my life. I am very happy to be in this incredible atmosphere… I have achieved success everywhere I’ve been, and I want to achieve success at Trabzonspor as well.”  Mohamed Salah.

According to filings submitted to the Turkish stock exchange, Trabzonspor secured the signature of the global icon with a landmark financial package.  A two year contract with a €17M a year  guaranteed salary, 20% share of all merchandise sold under his name and performance based add ons. 

Salah’s departure marks the close of a legendary 9-year tenure at Anfield. Joining Liverpool in 2017 from AS Roma, the Egyptian King established himself as one of the greatest wingers in Premier League history
