Real Madrid Seal Historic €140M Blockbuster  Deal for Yan Diomandé

The summer’s most dramatic transfer saga has officially reached its conclusion.

19-year-old Ivory Coast prodigy Yan Diomandé is heading to Spain to complete a medical and put pen to paper on a long-term six-year contract with Real Madrid.

After weeks of high-stakes negotiations with RB Leipzig—and stave-off interest from Europe’s biggest clubs—Los Blancos have agreed to a total potential package worth up to €140 million. (€125M Guaranteed, upfront base transfer fee paid directly to RB Leipzig, €10M Realistic Add-ons, Achievable milestones based on appearances and team achievements and €5M Performance Add-ons, Difficult-to-reach bonuses tied to individual individual honors and major silverware).

At just 19 years of age, Diomandé becomes the most expensive African player in football history, eclipsing all previous transfer records for young talent on the continent.  After joining RB Leipzig from Leganés a year ago, the Ivorian winger dazzled at the 2026 FIFA World Cup for Côte d’Ivoire.

Diomandé has been cleared to travel to Madrid for medical examinations before officially signing his contract through June 2031. With the deal finalized, Real Madrid have once again proved that when they target a flagship talent, they pull out all the stops to bring them to the Santiago Bernabéu.
