Amanda Staveley, the prominent dealmaker who brokered Newcastle United’s transformative takeover in 2021, is leading a high-powered investment group in direct talks to acquire a 25% stake in West Ham United.
While initial discussions center on purchasing part or all of the 25.1% holding controlled by the Gold family, sources close to the situation reveal that Staveley’s consortium views this initial investment as a stepping stone—remaining open to becoming majority shareholders down the line if the right path clears.
The landscape at West Ham United has been fluid following recent ownership developments and broader structural changes at the club. Staveley’s interest introduces a high-profile player into the mix.
