Arsenal Formally Launch Bid to Sign Newcastle’s Bruno Guimarães

Arsenal have officially made their move. After months of quiet admiration, Mikel Arteta’s side has opened formal club-to-club negotiations with Newcastle United to sign star midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

The Gunners are eager to bolster their midfield engine and have made it clear they are willing to offer a £60 million package to land the 28-year-old Brazilian. However, pulling this deal off won’t be smooth sailing with the departures of Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon however, Newcastle will entertain serious conversations if Arsenal test their resolve with a offer meeting the £75 million threshold.

While an initial £60m proposal falls short of Newcastle’s firm valuation, direct lines of communication are now wide open. With Guimarães reportedly open to the project at the Emirates, the pressure is on Arsenal to decide whether to bridge that £15m gap and secure their marquee midfield signing.
