Real Madrid Confirm Devastating Knee Injury for Ibrahima Konaté

Real Madrid’s defense has taken a hit. The club confirmed Ibrahima Konaté injured a collateral ligament in his right leg. He had to leave the French national team camp earlier today after some initial tests, which naturally raised concerns back in Madrid.

The club released a medical report detailing the injury after thorough examinations. It states that tests confirmed an injury to the collateral ligament of his right leg and that his recovery will be monitored.

They haven’t given a specific recovery time, but collateral ligament injuries usually take several weeks, and sometimes months, depending on how bad the sprain or tear is.

Konaté originally joined up with the French squad, but he started feeling discomfort in his right knee. The national team doctors looked at him, and given how serious it could be, they decided it was best for him to leave the squad and head back to Madrid for treatment.

This absence comes at a really important time for Real Madrid. Konaté, with his strength, ability in the air, and speed, has become a key part of their defense. The club will be keeping a close eye on how he progresses over the next few days as he starts his rehabilitation program at Valdebebas.
