Georginio Wijnaldum Set for Al-Ittihad Move

Georginio Wijnaldum, who used to play for Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, is apparently close to joining Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.

The Dutch player, who is 35, is currently having his medical tests. He’s set to sign as a free agent. Wijnaldum spent three seasons with Al-Ettifaq after leaving PSG in 2023, so he already knows the league well. He was known for being a flexible player, able to play in midfield or a bit further up the pitch.

Because he’s already used to how the league plays, Wijnaldum shouldn’t need much time to get settled at Al-Ittihad.

He’s won the Champions League and the Premier League before, and he brings that big-game experience, ability to handle pressure, and knack for getting into the box late to Al-Ittihad’s midfield. We should hear an official announcement from the club soon, assuming he passes his medical.
