Aston Villa look like they’re about to land a big signing for this transfer window.
Talks between Villa and Chelsea over 25-year-old Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson are in the final stages. It sounds like Chelsea will accept the full offer, which is around £65 million.
Everything’s moving towards the finish line, with Aston Villa getting ready to give the final okay for medicals and paperwork. What really pushed this deal forward was Aston Villa’s manager, Unai Emery.
He knew Jackson from their time together at Villarreal. Emery actually spoke directly with Jackson, laying out what Villa’s plans are and their vision for the team. Jackson was apparently really keen on the move and gave it the go-ahead pretty quickly.
He seems excited about playing for Emery again at Villa Park and leading the attack.
