Galatasaray Push to Complete Blockbuster €45m Deal for AC Milan’s Rafael Leão

Galatasaray’s making a big push for AC Milan’s Rafael Leão right at the end of the transfer window. Things have really picked up pace in the last day or so, with the Turkish club aiming for what could be one of the most significant signings ever in the Süper Lig.

They’ve put in a new offer to AC Milan – €45 million, plus some bonuses that should be pretty easy to hit. Milan’s been holding out for around €50 million for the 27-year-old Portuguese winger all summer, but this latest offer from Galatasaray, with those structured add-ons, reportedly gets the total package very close to what Milan wants.

Galatasaray’s people and Leão’s agent, Jorge Mendes, have been talking, and it sounds like those conversations have been going well. Word is that personal terms are pretty much agreed upon: a 4-year deal worth about €12 million net per season.

Leão, who arrived at AC Milan from Lille back in 2019 and has been there for seven seasons, apparently likes the idea of moving to Istanbul. Things have changed a bit with the team dynamics under Milan’s coach, Rúben Amorim, and that seems to have opened the door.

If they pull this off, having Leão join their current attacking talent would give Galatasaray an incredibly potent forward line in Europe, especially with the Champions League coming up.
